Frequency calibration EuroNode

I made a video that shows in a simple way how to calibrate the frequency of your EuroNode. In a few cases this is necessary when the reception, especially DMR and Fusion, needs to be improved.

DVMEGA Globetrotter firmware update.

The DVMEGA Globetrotter is equipped with a screensaver to prevent degradation of the O-Led display. The update is currently available as a beta version. If you want to test this new function, it is important that you enable the Beta tester function. You can see how it works in the next video.

Important note for people who want to purchase a DVstick-30 for XLX transcoding.

Previously, the DVstick-30 was equipped with an FT234 USB to Serial converter which is supported by ambed as standard. But because the FT234 is no longer available until next year, I had to use another chip that is supported by Windows as standard. I think that 99% of the dongles sold are used under Windows.

But in a few cases the DVstick-30 is also used for transcoding on an XLX reflector. You specifically need the earlier version DVstick-30 with FT234 for that. For this application I have kept some of these behind. So if you specifically want to purchase a DVstick-30 for XLX use, please contact me. You can do that via info@dvmega.nl

Kind regards, Guus van Dooren.

Identify DVstick-30 driver

Due to the persistent shortage of chips, i had to use another equivalent USB to Serial converter in the later batches of the DVMEGA DVstick-30. The functionality, speed and quality of both chips are equivalent. The FTDI234 was used in the earlier version of the DVstick-30, i now use the CP2102.

Both chips are natively supported by all Windows versions. However, in a few cases it may be that the standard driver does not always work properly because drivers from other apps can influence the standard that comes with Windows. It is then advisable to reinstall the driver belonging to the DVstick-30 that you have.

In the attached document you can see which driver you need for your DVstick-30 and you will also find the download link.

Here’s what you need to know before updating the DVMEGA EuroNode !

If you decide to update the system, keep the following in mind. Sometimes an update consists of minimal changes. But it can also be the case that an update is comprehensive. In this case, the update may take longer than you expect. Sometimes that is 60 seconds, other times it can be just 3 to 4 minutes. This depends a bit on the size of the update, how busy the server is and the local connection. At various times, “Done” will appear in the command box. This can cause confusion when you expect to be ready. The update is only really finished when “Finished”  appears in the command box. Below an example.

Should you accidentally reboot, or experience a power out, before the update is fully completed, the SD image may be damaged resulting in a system that no longer starts. In this case you can write a new clean EuroNode image on the SD card. You can download this new image from the following link : https://www.dvmega.nl/sdimage/SDEuroNode.zip

If you still experience difficulties despite this explanation, you can always contact me by E-mail info@dvmega.nl
